Our Zero-Plastic Policy
The Summit Kandy operates a strict zero-plastic policy, which means there is no single-use plastic anywhere on the property. Everything that would normally arrive in plastic has been replaced with natural, reusable materials.
Glass, ceramic and clay instead of plastic
Bathroom amenities are served in refillable ceramic bottles, drinking water and beverages come in glass, and much of our cooking and serving is done in traditional clay — the way Sri Lankan food has been prepared for generations.
Stainless-steel straws, never plastic
Every drink at our rooftop and at the Paradise Park restaurant is served with a reusable stainless-steel straw. You will not find a plastic straw, bottle or bag anywhere at the hotel.
Plastic-free from the rooms to the rooftop
Our no-plastic rule applies everywhere — in the guest rooms, the restaurant, the kitchen and the rooftop terrace. Being a small property makes it easy for us to keep every corner of it plastic-free.

We cultivate our own crop of fruit, vegetables and herbs in the hotel garden. They are picked fresh for our kitchen and for the hands-on Sri Lankan cooking classes guests can join during their stay.
